Introduction:

The Youth Training Centre was established in 2006, supported by Keymedia Foundation from Finland. The training center provides vocational education and training for youth with mild to moderate mental disabilities. Based on an evaluation of the individual ability of each trainee, the centre will make a individual vocational training plan, then through systematic vocational education and training, will help the youth develop vocational skills, independent life skills and a sound work personality. When students graduate form the Training Centre, they can meet the needs of a Sheltered Workshop, Supported employment and community work.

Through all of our life, our job always plays an important role. No job means no self-confidence, no respect. Each of us has the right to work, if we lose this right, we lose the possibility of a life integrated with society.

According to each student’s abilities and wishes, we design a training programme that focuses on the following subjects:

Work Personality:
establishing work routines, developing work habits and personality, developing work quality, and seting up interpersonal relationships.

Vocational ability:
communication ability, using tools, calculation ability, adaptation to a working environment, work procedures, work attitude and work safety.

Life skills:
household maintenance, money management, sanitation and health care, casual living, shopping, social skills, time concept, community safety, etc.
