Guangzhou Huiling

Four nine-year-old children celebrate their birthday party in simplicity and give to Huiling the money that would have been spent for gifts.

It happened at Mandello Lario, a village on Lake Como, in Northern Italy. Some time before Christmas the four pupils of Primary Three (Alessandro, Paolo, Lorenzo and Luca) had participated in a fund-raising activity of the school on behalf of mentally disabled people helped by Huiling. They had become friends of the persons they saw in the short film presented in their classroom. Away thousands of miles, but so near to their hearts that they decided to do something for them.

Here is the letter they wrote us: "We send you some money we collected on the occasion of our birthday party. We have preferred not to receive any gift so as to put together this small sum of money that will be more useful to Huiling children".

A gesture of generosity worth to be imitated by others.
